Schoolgirl Alphabet Sampler By Emma Neild
Finely worked wool on linen contained in a period faux-grained frame, possibly original. The sampler edged with a V motif, the lines of the alphabet interspersed with progressively intricate bands. The base of the field centering a flowering plant with birds above & flanked by baskets of flowers & a pair of dogs. Signed "Emma Neild, Age 10".
